Worth trying to invite someone from the MacArthur Foundation regarding funding some research in a group of NAIS schools? I have one connection and could see...

See you there. If you need help finding a location here in Chicago, I'm happy to help.

I won't be attending in person but I'm happy to participate virtually in whatever way possible. Deirdre, definitely worth seeing if anyone from MacArthur is interested. I plan to start a new discussion here on the Ning in the next week or two titled something like "Starting a Virtual Independent School", which I hope will facilitate the discussion.

Jamie - Got your message. I am still interested in getting together with this group. Let me know how I can help spread the word as there are others interested in getting together as well. Thanks.

On board as well. Hoping for a decent sized group. More disruption, more fun!

Still interested and Wednesday night works for me. Thanks for making this happen.

Curt...could you make a few recommendations for locations to get the ball rolling?

There is an Irish pub/restaurant not too far from the conference center..Grace O'Malley's at 1416 S. Michigan. The Wabash Tap, 1233 S. Michigan also not far. Don't know what's in the hotel/conference center. The whole south Loop area is a hot neighborhood with a lot of new places. Buddy Guy's Legends has live music that night starting at 9:30..a little closer to the Loop. Also close to Chinatown, where Lao Sze Chuan has the most authentic Chinese food in town.
