Independent School Educators network

Hi!

Here's hoping folks have enjoyed a pleasant summer (which is still going on, at least till later in September :-)

My office mates and I are looking for a solution to house our burgeoning supply of video cameras, chargers, boom mics, and related paraphernalia. If any of you has a storage solution you like, please would you attach a photo so we can see what it looks like.

Right now we have groups of cameras being charged on top of a cart, a shelf, and a cabinet, with plugs dangling to the ground where they plug into power strips. The boom mics are in their boxes leaning against a cabinet, and the tripods are stacked on the bottom shelf of a cart. The system works, though rather inelegantly, and we are beginning to feel it will get rather chaotic once we have students coming in to use the equipment.

Thanks for whatever suggestions (hopefully in the form of photos) you supply!
Cheers,
Laurie

Hi Laurie -- Not that we have this down either, but in our technology storage room, we purchased metal shelving with drawers (that can be divided) under each shelf. I would probably look for a more elegant solution if it was not in a closed dedicated storage room, but... Here's a photo that our former Tech Support Specialist posted last year.

Thanks, Alex, for your reply. We wound up surveying the furniture in our office and, in a 3-hour whirlwind tour last week, I reorganized what sat where, and put an oak cabinet out in the hall for anyone else to use.

Here is the final result:

Our office seems quite a bit bigger now! And, the equipment is more easily accessed by all the students in film classes. The tripods are stored on another cart, and the boom mics are under the clothing hanger, behind the door.
Cheers,
Laurie
