We are piloting an iPad program in our middle school and I'm trying to figure out a way to cover the cost of eBooks (Kindle and Nook) for students on financial aid. Currently our bookstore buys our books and we bill students and the business office takes care of the financial aid students. I can't figure out a way to purchase Kindle or Nook books for students and then distribute them. I can do it with Apps via a redeem code, Kindle and Nook don't seem to have an option for that.

Permalink Reply by Liz Davis on August 25, 2012 at 4:28pm I'm not using 3 different devices. The boys will all have iPads, but some of the books we use are only available as ebooks at the Kindle store (I actually found the nook book in the iBook store). We are using the Kindle App on the iPad for those books. With the iBooks I can purchase using a voucher, send students the redeem codes, and then bill students for the books. Amazon doesn't seem to give an option to bulk purchase ebooks. We could use gift cards, but I was wondering if we could find another option.
Permalink Reply by Karen McKenzie on September 19, 2012 at 8:54am Gift cards are one way to go. You can create a school log in with Amazon and B&N and purchase them as gifts for the students. This way the school pays for them and the kids get the code to redeem their gift. They can do this without creating an account that is tied to a credit card.
