Permalink Reply by Fred Bartels on December 13, 2010 at 3:29pm Wondering if anyone has found a solution they like for quickly updating multiple iPads from one computer. Does using a USB hub speed up the process?

Meanwhile, it's hard not to notice that the 11 inch Macbook airs are not much larger or heavier than an iPad. I wonder if 130 would hold up in the hands of 8th graders without protective cases...
Permalink Reply by Fred Bartels on December 15, 2010 at 8:41am I'm having a problem when trying to sync a bunch of iPads to a single computer. I'm getting the message saying each iPad will use one of the 5 computers that can share the content of the iTunes account. Has anyone synced a bunch of iPads to one computer recently? If so can you share how you avoided the 5 computer thing.
Thanks, Fred
Permalink Reply by Pete Smith on December 15, 2010 at 8:59am We thought about it, but we have so many that it is simply overwhelming. The mass sync could work with the hardware, but I have been warned that the computer simply can't handle the idea of so many pads at one time. The 5 machine max problem remains a problem. The Cedars School in Scotland is another 1 to 1 program on a smaller scale than ours which manages their iPads using multiple computers with several different itunes accounts which is a way around it. However, they do not have a bulk app distribution program yet and their rules about "distribution" are different than in the states.
