Fire Drill Plan 1 Reply

Hello!OK, so I've taken the torch on updating our fire drill plan. To sum it up, we really don't have an effective one. Since our lawyer talk at the ISM conference, I'm pretty much petrified that we…Continue

All - In today's NYTimes Style section, there was an article about Rachel Simmons. She is an author and speaker who focuses on empowering girls. We watched a video clip on her blog about the social networking site FormSpring. One thing that the article mentioned is that she has a book called Odd Girl Out that was made into a Lifetime movie. According to the article, the video is a "mainstay in many middle school health classes." I'm going to check into it, and thought it might be good for 9th graders, as wel.
Hope the beginning of the school year goes well for evereyone!

Beth, this is a great issue to discuss. As we all head back into our school years, it will be important to share what we have learned for the betterment of our schools. I would suggest that we post this as a discussion so that we track the input that other deans add to this conversation.

Here is perhaps a silly question for you all, my fellow deans- I've been asked by my division head what the main "take aways' from our ISM conference were, and I'm having a hard time articulating an answer. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks! Beth

I would wholeheartedly agree. I really look forward to sharing and working through problems and concerns and sharing in successes. I can't believe that the week is nearly over.
