I chose to implement differentiated literacy centers in my classroom this year. My centers are based on the spelling patterns and grammar rules we are learning about each week. I started by introducing two centers that were tiered by ability level.
I feel like this change has had a positive impact on my students. It provided more opportunities to reach all the different spelling levels in my classroom by using this strategy.
I will use this strategy again next year as well. I will continue to try to differentiate other literacy centers not only by level but also by interest.
I joined the Professional Development professional group on the Ning. I was able to establish some contacts to help with Professional Development opportunities at the Primary School.
