Comment by Laurie Bartels on June 14, 2010 at 11:20am: Our 7th and 8th graders, and all of their advisors, are reading FLIPPED this summer. According to one of our 8th grade LA teachers, last year's 8th graders LOVED the book.

So far, I am also loving it! It brings me back to middle school in the blink of an eye. The book is written from the perspective of two kids each sharing about the same events. More than that, I shall not share ;-)

I will definitely be adding The Hunger Games to my curriculum (7th gr.) next year. Just started The Outsiders with my classes.

Comment by Ruth Miller on August 31, 2009 at 1:51pm: I'm hearing (through the grapevine) that 8th graders are loving The Book Thief. I'm really curious as to what my incoming students (in grades 6 and 8) will be reading come September 10th.
