I teach first and second grade general music at Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia. This year I am using wikispaces to educate the children about famous musicians. Check out psmozart.wikispaces.com and let me know what you think.

We have a very involved Fine Arts program at Ravenscroft, with a very strenuous performing schedule. We also have many athletic teams playing each season and vigorous academic expectations. As each area continues to grow, we find our students being pulled in three different directions. Does anyone have an innovative way to help those students involved in both Fine Arts and athletics participate in both activities, while at the same time not compromising their academic progress? We've looked at trying to incorporate school-day performances to cut down on conflicts. We also added one whole day of "celebration" at the end of the year where the student body and faculty are engaged in our performances and art demonstrations. This day of celebration helps avoid conflicts with AP exams, senior internships, Middle and Upper School exams, etc. I'd love to hear how your school handles the "piggybacking" of students.
