Independent School Educators network

Newark Academy is in the final stages of preparing for our paticipation on January 31st, 2008, in the nationwide teach-in called Focus the Nation (www.focusthenation.org). FTN hopes to influence national policy regarding climate change. Over 1000 institutions are currently involved, including colleges and universities, faith groups, activist organizations, and community coalitions. Our program description is attached and continues to evolve.

I would love to hear of any other related or similar efforts.

What are the grade levels in your school? We are also going to be participating in this event. I liked your idea of the discussion groups relating back to the school's part and what it exactly all means. we talk about sustainability and carbon footprint a lot but the question is if the kids truly understand what it means to them. We are going to be a little more involved in our participation. We are a boarding school so will participating in all aspects of the event from the webcast to inviting the local political figures to join us here. I would love to hear what other people are doing though!!!
