Has anyone found the Whipplehill giving and event registration lacking capability? If so, could you share what you are using as an alternative.

We want to be able to pass particular user defined variables to our merchant account and cannot manipulate the current forms.

Our NY school uses Greater Giving for giving and event registration.  I don't know much about it except that we get to choose what appears on the pages and what is required info.  We are new to Whipplehill but we have embedded our Greater Giving page in the school web site's NY Development section.
Thank you.
We use wufoo.com. At certain levels it has payment integration and a good level of customization.
Thank you.

Hi Bill,

Yes we have found the format of the registration limiting but I'm not sure why you want to send user defined variables to the merchant account.  What are you trying to put into the variables?

Ed

accounting information so we can parse out the charges into giving, events, annual fund.....
We do this on our giving page by having the donor select the funds (we give them two options currently - but we have other gift forms for specific needs - but all the funds go into one account)...This is reported back via the Giving report. Then our gifts manager assigns that information.  This depends on how your bookkeeping is done.  For us all of our gifts go into one account and the business office handles allocating funds from there.  The development office records the gift into their raiser's edge software for the account the gift was meant for. (I may be completely missing what you want to do)

Thanks Ed.  We want to pass a finer gradient of information from the webpage to the Merchant account report.  I think we found a lead on a person to do this for us.

Our workaround has been to add the account number to the end of the registration title. So our users also see "Reunion 2011 (xxxxxxxxxxx)" in the Event Registrations channel. Not a graceful solution, but it works.

Slightly related - I've submitted an idea to UserVoice to sort registrations by Active/Inactive, as currently they are listed in alphabetical order and there is no quick way to see which registrations are active. Votes would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks.  We decided to try and work this out by hiring a 3rd party vendor, with some success.
