Hello,
We are completing our first full year with WhippleHill so I have a question about how others deal with Host-IDs when students graduate/transfer. Our situation is as follows:
Host-IDs for current students are determined by their inResonance student IDs. Host-IDs for alumni are determined by Blackbaud Raisers' Edge. So when we update our WH records, the data is generated from scripts from inResonance (current students) and Raisers' Edge (alumni).
Using the WH processes for graduating and withdrawing students, the departing students will retain their inResonance Host-IDs. So to use our Raisers Edge as the source for keeping those records up to date, I somehow need to change these past students' Host-IDs to their raisers' Edge IDs.
How do other schools in this situation deal with this issue?
Thanks for any insight or advice you can give,

What we do is add the users to Raiser's Edge, get the Raiser's Edge Unique ID and put that into a field in Portal in a Field Called REID. It's a little extra work, but you have continuity from one DB to another.

We use RE (our students are entered into RE before they graduate) At the time I graduate the seniors I can modify the HOST id #'s at that time... It is part of the process of graduation in whipple hill's podium- Go to Platform Manager > Manage Student Enrollments... they know that you may be moving them into another database.....
