FAQs

If you have any questions about ISEnet, please post them as comments below, and we will add the answers here.

Q:I have two different accounts on this network. Can I combine them into one account?
A:Unfortunately there is not a way to combine two accounts on this network into one. You can, however, delete one of the accounts. If you don’t know the password for one of your two accounts there is a “Forgot Your Password” link on the sign-in screen (below the “Sign In” button.) If you log in with the account (email address) that you want to delete, and then click the “Leave Independent School Educators network” link on the bottom of the “My Settings” page, this will delete that account. The details are on this ning help page. Please let us know if you need any further assistance with this issue.

Q: What is the purpose of this ISEnet ning?
A: To provide a place for educators and students to safely explore a social-educational network to discuss topics of interest, and to share videos, podcasts, blogs, etc.

Q: What is a blog and do I have one here?
A:Each person on this site has the option to add blog posts. They will appear on the top left of the "Main" page, and will also be on your profile page. You can specify who can see them (anyone, just members, or just colleagues.) We also encourage you to find, read, and subscribe to bloggers who interest you. Some of our favorites are: David Warlick, Will Richardson, & Ewan McIntosh. Also check out the blogs by principals and heads of schools.

Q:What is "podcasting" and can I do it here?
A:Podcasting is the creation of audio files and the posting of them on a website to which people can subscribe. Ning allows you to upload or embed audio files, but if you are new to podcasting, it is simplest to use a site like MyPodcast to record and host your audio files, and then if you want to, you can link to them from here.

Hey Deborah, I like blip.TV for what you are describing. I think you can pay roughly $100 for an account which allows you to create private links and private embed codes for your video. The videos may be left "private" so that they are only visib...
