Get a free diigo social bookmarking account

To get a free diigo account for social bookmarking, you first sign up for an account, and then you tell them you are an educator:

A. Click here for the sign-up page

B. Once you have your account with a username & password,
click here to sign in to diigo and tell them you are an educator.

C. To bookmark websites, you need to add the "diigolet" to your bookmarks bar, or better yet, stop using Internet Explorer or Firefox and instead use Google's web browser (Chrome) and install the diigo extension.

D. The "social" part of social bookmarking has several avenues: groups, friends and feeds.

  1. Groups allow us to easily share bookmarks. When you bookmark a site with the diigo extension you can choose to share it with a group that you belong to. Please join our "Independent School Collaboration" group.
  2. Friends are other people on diigo with whom you want to give access to your bookmarks list. Once you create a friend connection that person can see your bookmarks and vice versa.
  3. Feeds [link-rolls] are a way to automatically have certain lists of bookmarks appear on web pages. For example, if you have a class website, you might want to feed a set of your bookmarks to that page for your students' edification (or better yet create a group for that class and have all your students' bookmarks populate that feed.)
