"But I don't have time to become a better teacher...waaaaa!"

Back on the soapbox.

I don't know how many times I've heard over the years "I don't have time to learn how to do this. Why can't it be part of in-service? We should have time put into our schedules to learn [insert whatever here]."

Prove to me you need a Smartboard

This is my rant to all the educators out there clamoring, "I need a Smartboard! I need a Smartboard!"

experience was relatively technology-poor, nearly all of their writing

was on computer, and a significant, if not majority, of their research

was networked and…

It's my classroom and I'll cry if I want to...

Scott McLeod voices this observation:

“…can anyone else think of an employment sector other than K-12 and postsecondary education where employees have the right to refuse to use technology?

For example, a grocery store checker doesn’t get to say ‘No thanks, I don’t think I’ll use a register.’ A stockbroker doesn’t get to say, ‘No thanks, I don’t think I’ll use a computer.’ An architect doesn’t

get to say, ‘No thanks, I don’t think I’ll use AutoCAD.’ But…
