Thanks for the tip. As for teachers, I don't really know since I posted at the request of Allison. I would guess, however, that anyone with a wiki could be of interest to many - teachers, have at it.

Thanks for friending me! I have five friends now so I'm feeling quite special. Of course, I have to find time to check the site. I plan to catch up on all these things over spring break (which can't come soon enough here in snowy NE) as I settle into my new house. Yes, I moved in February--what was I thinking? As usual, things are busy at school and we are gearing up for change as we get a new Head in July (the first in 15 years). Are you going to AISL in Toronto?

- I hope I can keep up this level of responding when school is really moving along. Exam week allows more "free" time here at my desk! But it is really great to have this available. Happy Christmas, Hannukkah now past, and whatever other holidays you squeeze in here. I have a birthday in a few days so that adds to the chaos! And all best for 2008 in every realm of your lives.

Time is our enemy, for sure. Sadly too much PD is designed around time and budgets. But honesty is encouraged here as well.

Thanks, Liz. We just haven't had much luck with getting teachers to give up those blocks, at least not on a consistent enough basis to make any real progress. I hope you see some real success in making this paradigm shift.
It would come out of their free block. I'm planning to meet with them every two to three weeks for a semester.
I used it pretty actively for about two years and ultimately found it more annoying than useful. Keeping a decent signal to noise ratio took too much care and time. I'm glad others find it wonderful, but it didn't really work for me.
Where is the teacher's time coming from to engage in these more personalized approaches to PD? We would gladly do more of this sort of thing with teachers, but even those motivated to do so have a lot of trouble making time for them.
