Matt Montagne replied to Demetri Orlando's discussion iPads vs. Laptops
"Hey Jim, I appreciate your response. It is one of the best responses I've yet received to the questions I'm puzzling through.  You make a great point with the following statement: This may be a really good option for those schools…"

Matt Montagne replied to Demetri Orlando's discussion iPads vs. Laptops
"Hey Sarah, just to be clear, I think the iPad is a fine platform for creating some content. I just believe it falls short in some key areas...and I believe these key areas to be pedagogically rich and a huge loss when going all-in with…"

Matt Montagne replied to Dana Smith's discussion Moodle v. Haiku in the group Moodle Users and Admins
"Another proprietary platform that we're investigating for a potential LMS is Schoology. It is sorta like Moodle, but with a heavy emphasis on the social component. It's an intriguing piece of software, but I worry that it will end up as a…"

Matt,

I wish Flip would make a mount for this. It would make the process so much easier.

Thanks, Matt!
Yep, things are going well here at USM. I love the place and the people. I'm settling in a bit, finding a little more of a rhythm (I would dare call it a routine!). This week's goal is rebuilding my own prof dev network: Twitter, Plurk, nings (including this one), Google Reader cleanup, delicious and diigo, and...I think I left a blog around here somewhere...

I'll try to touch base with you via Skype when I get a chance. Hope all is well for you in sunny CA, too. (By the way, you need to update your avatar pic to something sunnier! :)

Take care!

Hi Matt. I think I can participate on Thursday. It will most likely just be me this time, but if this becomes a regular event there are several students and teachers who would like to join in. I have Skype on my computer, but have never used it. Will you be sending us some instructions?
