MacArthur Foundation Study on Internet Use
The report, Living and Learning With New Media, is an initial step in cataloging and understanding how young people use the Internet. In general, it found many positive benefits.

My initial two cents? It's nice to have empirical data to back up intuitive or anecdotal insights into the positive nature of the Internet.
