If you haven't yet explored shared bookmarking it's well worth it. The video "
social bookmarking in plain english" does a nice job of explaining the concept.
* access your bookmarks from any computer (they're no longer tied to just one computer)
* share your bookmarks with others and see what others are bookmarking
* you apply "tags" (keywords) to sites as you bookmark them, and then can search based on everyone's "tags" which leads to finding interesting sites
* you can join "groups" of users which send you email updates of new links on that topic
I also just found out that Diigo is now
offering free "educator" accounts so that you can easily create accounts for classes of students to do shared bookmarking. This should really facilitate that process.
If you're looking for a few good groups to join on diigo, check these out:
*Independent school educators
*web2.0
*project based learning
*teaching with tablets
*green school
